Den Haag - Hollands Spoor

A train a day keeps the doctor away!
Mmm, these are interesting, I am sure I have not seen them before.:)

@hermann that's right Sally, I hadn't taken a photo of these locomotives before. These trains run the intercity service between The Hague and Brussels 12 times per day. After the failed Fyra project http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyra they needed quickly a replacement service between Belgium and the Netherlands so they hired these locomotives and put together a new intercity service within three months. It normally takes much longer to get an international train service operational.

These locomotives look pretty slick!

@golder365mjsmith Yes, indeed. Although the trains only have a maximum speed of 160 kilometres while driving on the high speed line between the Netherlands and Belgium however the maximum allowed speed on the high speed line is 300 kilometres. So hopefully in the future these trains will be replaced by trains that are able to reach faster speeds then that.
