Entering from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta's Saluting Battery (Batterija tas-Salut) overlooks Fort St. Angelo and the rest of the Grand Harbour.
Once used for firing ceremonial gun salutes, as well as signalling time to the islanders and passing ships, history is brought to life at noon and 4pm daily.
The firing of the gun has become one of Malta's most popular visitor attractions.
