Great Spangled Fritillary by tunia

Great Spangled Fritillary

Apparently this butterfly is common in North America but I have never seen one before. The host plant is the wild violet and my lawn is full of them.
Just beautiful all around.

Very pretty. The pink and golds really contrast with the green.
