So slow to bloom

Its all about a hydrangea that blooms on new wood that got a slow start this spring ... I think. Plants just have a mind of their own.

Here it was mid-autumn in Illinois yet I saw a hydrangea with a number of fresh blooms on it. Seemed rather late in the season to me, buy hey, I'm not going to complain about late blooming hydrangea! This one is sure pretty.
