@365karly1, when you broke this hard brown shell you can see part of fruit which you can eat. Almond tree can be tall six meter. This tree is photographed in Dalmatia.

@purdey the fruit of almond tree is 4-5 centimeters long. This tree grow in Mediterranean (most in Italy, Spain, Greece..), in regions with warm clima.

I saw Almond trees in Israel, but they were just blooming when I was there, so I did not get to see the fruit/nuts forming on the trees. Nice shot!
