Christmas: Day 22
OK, so for all of you who have been thinking I have it all together...I DON"T. I made my cheesecake today and have no idea what happened...it is an easy recipe and always turns out...well, FAIL! see how tall it was? For some reason, it shrunk half its size as it cooled down. I hope it tastes OK, because that is our dessert for dinner Christmas Eve. And guess what else happened? Last night, I knocked over the tree digging out a gift from our son so we could open them on a Skype call. I didn't have the nerve to grab the camera as my husband rushed in to help me lift it up and salvage the ornaments.Fortunately nothing broke. But the tree has dried, even though he has faithfully kept it watered, the carpet was covered with needles and puffs of white flocking. We got it upright, made it to the computer for the Skype unwrapping with our son, his wife and grandson. So thankful for internet to keep close to those who don't live near us! So as far as the tree decorating...I get a DOUBLE CHECK!
Oh, Vicki. . .this story makes me feel infinitely better. . .although I hope you didn't really think you had to knock the tree over just because I think you're perfect! ;->
@lyno LOL! yes, I was feeling so bad about that, I went right in there and pushed it over! there was a split second, that I was thinking to myself, why don't we just go ahead and toss it out and then I can check off the undecorating part now? grrr...so frustrating!
These things are called memories and it happens to all of us. My wifes cakes some times do not look good but I can assure you they always taste great. So i am sure yours will.
Small imperfections are good at Christmas. The cheese cake will taste great I'm sure. My mum is stressing over a wonky tree but noone else will notice and will just appreciate it!
What a disaster you had!!!! That cheecake looks so inviting to me. I have a big temptation to buy a flight to your place and invite myself to Christmas lunch
I'm sorry I laughed. I'm sure it'll be wonderful and I'm glad you and your tree with all of it's ornaments survived.
Skype sure is a wonderful, isn't it?
Did n`t you know, all troubles come with/by tree (3) ( a Dutch saying )
