Back to the doctor for my 4 week from surgery check. He said that as soon as I felt ready, I could walk with or without the aid of the crutches. Oh yeah! I tucked them under my arm and have not used them since!
Beautiful photo, Vicki. Love the lighting and the colors. So, you broke your ankle about the same time as my husbands co-worker. She was walking in the American River and slipped and folded her ankle. Lucky she was with her boyfriend who had to call 911 as he could not carry her very far and she could not stand the pain. I am so sorry.
@vickisfotos I am glad you were able to walk with your husbands help. Amazing that you did not know it was broken though I have folded my ankle twice now and neither time was it broken but it was super painful. Passed out the last time I did it and my husband thought I was dead as my head dropped to my chest. You must have intense pain tolerance. I was in a soft cast and a boot for weeks.
well, as i fell, i heard a POP! It replays in my mind now and then and really creeps me out. I thought it was a tendon tearing. Then a wave of heat rolled over me and i put my head to my knees and waited for it to pass...I was sure I was going to throw up but I didn't. We waited it out, then when i felt I should get up, I did. It hurt, but it really was our option, well except for a man who offered to carry me out. We turned him down and took it slowly step by step until we got there. You should have seen my husband with his backpack, my camera backpack, tripod on his back and me on his arm...poor guy!
And good for you! So glad that you can be more mobile again and all is healing well.
Beautiful capture of those wonderful colored leafs
