My friend Bonnie and I met up at 6am to drive to the tulip fields. It was SUPPOSED to be the nicest day today...we checked to make sure we would be there for the sunrise....little did we know about the early morning fog that got thicker and thicker as we drove on. Well, we made the most of it and hope to have a chance again to see the sunrise over the fields before they are gone for the year. These are in Woodburn, Oregon
@eyesmile here is what you would have seen if you had met up with us...hope your trip there is a little sunnier. Oh, fyi...they are now charging for the early risers! $10 to park and shoot! It has been a couple of years since I was down there and it was free before hours and we were welcome to shoot and stay as long as we wanted. Oh well. There were tons of early birds there along with us...they may as well get a few more dollars for their hard work to put on a show for us, right?
Are you in Tulalip?? Every year I say I'm going to go to the festival but I've yet to make it. We went all the way to Amsterdam three years ago and to the world famous Keukenhof Gardens but were just a couple of weeks late. It was pretty but not spectacular. Gorgeous shot... fav!!
This is so unique!!!Thanks for sharing it!Beautiful image!I don't mind the fog at all!it adds some sense of infinity! And the windmill makes the image very authentic!Fav!
Thanks for the note Vicki! It was foggy on our way up to the Marina in Porltand, but once we got there it was glorious! Too bad about the fog, but your photo is beautiful! Love that you included the windmill in the image ..it looks great in the fog! Did you have your boots with you? We may go out on Wed and see what happens. This is a fav btw!
Tulip fields in bloom are my idea of heaven! This is a beautiful shot! Most years I make a trip to the tulip festival in Skagett, WA where the bands of tulips seem to go on forever. Didn't make it there this year so I'm happy to see this shot of yours! Fav!
I think the fog makes for a less obvious but equally beautiful shot. The reflections in the puddles and the hint of a windmill both add to this super image. I love your composition too! Well worth getting up for. Fav.
Oh what a sight to see!!! Instant fav. Not only the rows and rows of tulips but the way the mist covers the windmill. I would come to Holland just to see this!!
@carwyn3 Oregon is a beautiful state! I love to travel and see the world, but I know that we have a beautiful place right here where we live. I hope you make it here sometime!
This is an awesome shot- if I had not read your commentary I would have totally believed it to be taken in the Netherlands! I'm sorry you did not see the sunrise this time, but honestly, I think this is a great shot with the fog! fav
Vicki, had no idea you had tulip fields. This is beautiful and atmospheric - love the reflections of the tulips, and the mist in the distance. Well done - fav!
Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
