We had our first day of cloudy rainy weather. But being true Oregonians...we went on with the show. WITHOUT umbrellas. We walked to Firostefani and Fira which was not that far...maybe 1 or 2 miles on a cobblestoned pedestrian walkway. Cute little shops and churches and photo opps all along the way, we didn't even know we had walked that far until we saw the donkey trail that takes the tourists up from the cruise ships. So we walked the whole way down and found ourselves a nice little table to watch people and hope the rain would stop a while. We had a cappuccino, then another, then lunch...finally we took off for home. Only we took the funicular/cable car back up instead of walking. I just could not bring myself to make a donkey or mule carry me up those wet slippery steps.
