The weather on the second day of our Brighton getaway was better. We went for another walk along the beach, but at a more leisurely pace as the sun was intermittently shining. We took a couple of pit stops when it did rain, but it wasn't incessant like it was yesterday. Again I took plenty of pictures, none more so of the burnt, skeletal-like West Pier.
Again I used the ultra-wide angle lens to capture this shot and in post-processing I decreased the exposure of the sky. I almost chose another shot of the Pier with some deck chairs in the foreground, but settled on this one because I think the towers are imposing and more dramatic.
We enjoyed our stay in Brighton. Because of the weather we're glad we didn't stay for two nights like we originally planned to, although it is a long drive from Nottingham to Brighton and back just for one night. Suman and I don't do things like this very often, but with the fun I had with my new lens I think we might have to!

really great shot. Those foreground poles really lead my eyes out, but I didn't know what it was out there until I read the caption. Nice job, and again, I can really tell a difference in your shots with your new lens, isn't it fun to get soooo much in the frame!?
reall great shot!! Love it, one of the better I've seen taken there.
There's a bit of history behind that pier - it stood in fairly good condition for years and years, and then Brighton was granted some lottery funding to help restore it back to health.. and then there was a fire. The experts still thought it could be fixed, then another fire happened shortly after, followed by a storm which pretty much finished it off! The locals all suspect the owner of the other pier because he was worried about loss of trade. Anyhow, I hope i've not bored you too much, I rambled a bit, sorry!
