What a miserable day! Rain, wind and grey skies weren't the best conditions for an outdoor shoot, so at first I thought about what to shoot indoors. I couldn't think of anything, so I drove briefly round the corner and took a few out-of-focus shots of the street lights, passing cars and a local pub.
This is a shot of the local pub, The Mill; it's probably what it looks like after a few too many drinks! I know I posted a similar shot last Tuesday, but in this weather my options are limited.
I've been going back and forth over what lens to purchase next. I know I want the Canon 7D next, but I'm not sure what lens to pair it with. I narrowed it down to the 17-55mm f/2.8 and the 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6, so it was a decision between a faster lens or better range. However, now I'm erring towards the 24-105mm f/4 lens. It's a similar price to the aforementioned lenses and slightly better quality. Yes it's not that wide, but paired with my ultra-wide 10-22mm lens I think it could be a great combo. Let me know what you think!

On the lens front, a mate of mine who has a 7D raves about this 24-70 f2.8 jobber he's got. I think it's getting on for £900 but he flippin' loves it, especially for video as the constant f-thing helps with zooming and keeping exposure constant.
24-105 is a great workhorse because of the really useful focal range. But f/4 isn't real fast, and its bokeh isn't real pretty. I decided against it for those reasons. Love my 24-70 f/2.8 though.
