I attempted some more street photography tonight. I had some time to spare after my workout, so I went to the Market Square in the centre of town as the Christmas lights were switched on this evening. On the way I took a few snaps of my walk, including this shot of a taxi turning a corner.
I took this with my Canon S90. It's inconspicuous, has manual settings, a lens that allows you to shoot at a wide aperture of f/2 and it shoots in RAW. Simply put, it's perfect for street photography.
There was a small fair in the market square. I took a few pictures of it that I liked and I almost chose one of them for my picture of the day; however after converting my street shots into black and white and giving them that gritty feel, I liked the way this and a few of the others turned out. I think I'm going to enjoy doing street photography at night over the coming months.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
