I finished work early today to capture another sunset shot. I went to Highfields Park, which is home to a lake and sits in front of the main campus of the University of Nottingham.
When I got there I was surprised to see that the lake was frozen over, despite it being about 7 or 8 degrees Celsius. It must be shielded somewhat from the sunlight during much of the day.
In the background is the Trent Building, a place that I photographed way back on day 152. I took quite a lot of photos whilst the sun set; I added a few of them to my 'University of Nottingham' set on Flickr ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/vikdaddy/).
The great thing about the 7D is its three custom settings. It means that - like today - I can immediately set my camera to my preferences for landscapes and I don't have to think too much about my settings when I'm in the field. You don't realise how useful it is until you have it, because it's very easy to miss or spoil a photo opportunity simply because your camera isn't set up correctly.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
