Fire Cruiser

One Night Stand Challenge - Candid
This is the only people picture I got today. This is first of many heading up our road to tackle the fire that had started about 2km away at the back of our property. We bailed not long after this shot.
Ed was so excited, before we headed out, six fire trucks & two helicopters were working they way to the fire.
I was busy getting some things together & all I could hear was Ed screaming out to me " Mum, Mum, Come quick Harold is here, he is checking out the fire". ( Harold is the helicopter off of Thomas the Tank)
A child's mind, the excitement seeing them all just clouded his mind to how dangerous & scary a fire can be. He didn't want to leave with everything that was going on.
Very long afternoon waiting at a friend's house to see how it all went.
It got within a bit over a km away & it turned late afternoon & went up the hill. There are a lot of properties close to tree plantations up there which were all in tact when I went for a drive the next day, thankfully.
A huge pat on the back to all firies that not only got this one out but the work that is being done over this state, NSW & Victoria.
We were lucky & there are others the haven't been, sincerely thinking of them
This is so cute! Great candid!

Great candid of your little guy, taking in all the excitement.

It must have been so very scary. Good that things are ok where you are, but tragic if others have lost homes or lives.
We have lots of experience with wildfires here in S. California, although I don't live in a fire zone myself.
Fire destroys so quickly and so completely.
