Get Pushed #48 - I have been challenged to use fill in flash for the week
Shutter 1/200
Aperture 11. Set it at this so the sky wasn't blown out, his body seems to be too dark though as it blends into the background
ISO 400
Flash exposure -1
What do you do about the flash spots? All the one's I took of Ed today were reflected on all the wet spots on his face, this one had the least out of all of them. Do you edit them out or leave them?
Feel like I am getting this all wrong, a brilliant challenge, though.
Any suggestions or information on this will be greatly appreciated, just adding a flash turns it all upside down for me
@amiga Hi Brendan, would like to ask you for some pointers on using my built in flash. Have decided to try & work it out so I am not scared to use it. I remember the fill in flash from one of the camera settings challenges you hosted. How do I soften the flash so the shadow & flash spots are less visible? they seem quite harsh in the shots I have tried so far. And am I on a right track of sorts with the camera settings? Just want to figure this flash out before I look into other types of lighting, Thanks
It's a really cute portrait. Have you found out how the increase and decrease the flash power in your camera menus? If you cant change the direction of the flash (and point it at something to bouce off) try putting a semi-clear plastic cup over it to diffuse it a bit (cut some holes so it doesn't get too hot in there)
