Our tour guide (retired British Military - who happened to speak fluent Italian) took us to a battlefield that we weren't suppose to be at. When confronted by the Italian Carabenari, he brought out his official documents that said he was doing some "recon" business. Being the jokester that he was, he added that 2 in our group were retired US Generals. The Carabenari then gave us a warm welcome & even posed for pictures but not before putting on their hats. The last thing our guide heard them say was, "I wonder which ones were the Generals?". We had quite the chuckle that day!!
