The Little Hussar by whiteswan

The Little Hussar

325-365
My grandson is wearing a complete uniform of the 6th Hussar Regiment from Imperial Germany. It was made precisely for a child in the 1910's, probably for a son of a ruling house.
Wow… where did you get the uniform??

@kwind Thanks Kim. My husband loves military history and acquired this uniform. It just happened to fit our grandson.

@whiteswan May I just ask, please - is there a significance to the curving trim on his sleeves, and on the red and gold part of his left pant leg? (Is that even part of the pant, or is it separate?) What an intricate uniform and what a beautiful grandson you have! I want to find a picture in your project of him happily smiling now :)

@vickisfotos Thank you Vicki!

@kchuk The red & gold on the left leg is called a "sabretache". It was used to carry their orders, pencil, notes, etc.
As far as the braiding on the sleeves...that was just for decoration.
