This basket was handmade by women who live on the Marshall Islands in the South Pacific. I found it in a store in Hawaii. The weaving is beautiful but it's special to me as my father served in the US Navy during WW II on the Marshall Islands. I remember a bag of seashells that he had brought home with him that looked like the shells on this basket.
