I had my fourth graders out "exploring nature" in the woods in front of the school in preparation for writing haikus later in the week. Two of them noticed this little guy blooming under a tree.
Ha! I am teaching a poetry unit to my third grade literacy group this week too! Right now they are working on writing their own 'sick' poems based on the poem 'Sick' by Shel Silverstein.
