on the road . . . again by wiesnerbeth

on the road . . . again

One of my brothers rented an rv to drive from Erie to Virginia for the graduation. Last night he and his wife and I and our combined eight kids took the rv into DC to see the monuments at night . . . well we went to the Vietnam Memorial and the Lincoln Monument, drove past the Washington (which none of the kids looked at because they were playing cards in the back), and spent 20 minutes circling the elusive Jefferson before giving up and heading back at midnight. Today they left for Tennessee, heading for the Grand Canyon.
Can't imagine driving an RV in DC! Heck, I've literally cried there in traffic before when I accidentally ended up in the Georgetown area. Streets so narrow I was sure I'd scrape paint off the sides of the car.

@margonaut It's terrible isn't it?! One wrong turn and you either have to lock all the doors and hope you don't get shot or you're headed over a bridge in the opposite way you want to go. We took the RV in at 10:30 at night so parking wasn't a problem! Yesterday I was in Georgetown with the Girl Scouts but we took metro and then walked 17 blocks. We were dying in the heat but so much better than driving!
