"Miss Rumphius," by Barbara Cooney is one of my favorite books and for years I've been looking for lupines. I usually find lots of seed pods in the butterfly gardens at Asbury Woods, but I'm always too late for the flowers. Today was my lucky day! I love the little insect on the bottom spur. The spur is on one end of the seed pod. It splits through the petals when the seeds are ready.
