did it have a white throat/ belly? If not, then it may be something else!

The belly was light-ish -- sort of a white-pale gray but I didn't get close enough to see the throat (haha). It was only about an inch and a half in diameter but it was about 3 feet long.

Black rat snakes are common here, so it seems like that's what it was -- I've just never seen a little one!
