the only thing worse than bridges are tunnels

I'm with you there. My mother and I broke down in the Lincoln tunnel once and had to be towed out, snarling rush hour traffic. My husband told me not to worry about the tunnels in the Norfolk, VA area because they wouldn't leak, since they are buried in the mud UNDER the river. Didn't make me feel any butter.

@eudora No that doesn’t make me feel any better either — we are headed to a wedding in that area next month! My niece was on a bus that was stuck in the tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for more than a day because of a snowstorm six or seven years ago. I wasn’t even there and won’t drive on the turnpike anymore!
