Back in the day, I would travel north to the Grand Canyon, taking hwy 180 from Flagstaff. Before joining the Williams-GC hwy, the area was open range. Doing this route between 0300-0700, one had to be very careful as to what might be seen on/beside/near the road, sometime alive, only once, not.
