Well, you could interpret it in so many ways. I am going to assume the young person was waiting for his/her parent to take the car park ticket back to the car after purchasing it.
i didn't see the youngster right away, only after i read your narrative. the sign has the most impact to me and i wondered if you had paid your parking, dear. :-)
@s4Sayer another timid attempt for you @summerfield She stood out more before I turned it B&W but glad you spotted her after reading narrative @suesouthwood that's a good interpretation
Splendid! I had to look twice to spot her...or is she a boy? I'd certainly have pay the meter...otherwise no exit. Pay the youth/youthess? I like to think that I'd ask the young person the circumstances of their 'waiting'.
I didn't even notice the person at first. It goes to show how difficult it is to determine circumstances in an instant. Waiting? Begging? Cold? Child? Young adult? Male? Female? Sad? Bored?
Interesting responses from your followers and a chilling realisation that we see what we want to see and blot out/ignore that which troubles and, or disturbs our status quo.
A 'small' person in an uncomfortable situation poses questions which our 'maturity' has not yet resolved. Reflection required?!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I think, mistakenly or otherwise, that a challenge is exactly that. It should disturb me, make me fret, feel uncomfortable...not because I can't do it, but rather I haven't done it before and so feel exposed, vulnerable even, when my comfort zone melts like ice on the equator. How can I grow, face my demons, support others...if I can't/won't accept that I can't walk on water? Every marathon begins with the first step...and another, and another... My 365 project started with trepidation, feelings of inadequacy, loss of time without gratification. I imagine we've all been there.
There is another side to the coin. The infrastructure of this site welcomes newbies; features their shots; seasoned members encourage and follow rookies like me; help is there for the asking; challenges, themes and competitions provide continuous opportunity to push barriers, to learn from mistakes.
My turn will come to support others who will step this way...weeks, months and years after me. When I feel I'm making progress and can assist and encourage others as I have been...then and only then...will I feel that the tenacity of my supporters and my photographics efforts have facilitated a worthy result.
Well being completely random from the above I noticed that you have managed to two set of double opposing arrows, one on the parking meter machine & one on the give way sign!! Random I know!!!
@summerfield She stood out more before I turned it B&W but glad you spotted her after reading narrative
@suesouthwood that's a good interpretation

Repeat after me...I can do this!
End of rave.
I am going to assume it's a girl.
Sat by a pay machine I am also going to assume she may be a beggar.
@megpicatilly thank you Catherine, she was so tiny and trying to stay hidden
