Lauren, Charlie is to your yard/cautious, like birds are in an open-air restaurant/bold. Our squirrels have spent a lot of time with people passing by & feeding them, so they've grown up unafraid. Keep working on Charlie...you'll have her eating out of your hand in no time.
Louise, that's so sweet! You have some of the most amazing squirrel shots! My nephews love to watch "Alvin and the Chipmunks" Who knows, maybe the next big hit will be "Louise and the Squirrels" :-) Male or female, we love them anyway! :-)

My sister in law is terrified of squirrels and chipmunks. I don't know why but they scare her to death and her yard is full of them. If they were this friendly and ate out of your hand maybe she wouldn't be so afraid of them.
hmmm , maybe I can train my neighbohood squirls to eat out of my hand.... I've got lots of them and chipmunks that eat out of my bird feeders.... It's gotten so bad that I now have 4 dedicated squirl feeders around my house. They still hang upsidedown on my bird feeders
We have a squirrel around our yard but he never stays around long enough or lets me get close enough to ever take great pictures. The only ones I have taken have been with my Kodak Z612 using the digital zoom without a tripod so the quality is not great like yours or Lauren's. Maybe I should start putting things out to attract him. But on another note I found this pic on the web and I am not sure if he is getting sent overseas or not, but perhaps we can hook him up with Charlie before he is shipped out. http://rayswrld.shutterfly.com/pictures/18

Another adorable squirrel shot! I love the color of their tummies! My daughter is going to the U of A, Tucson! Did your girls like it? We are very excited She is majoring in creative writing. I think that Tucson may become a new favorite place for me to visit :o)

Louise, about the Ricky Nelson reference...I was surprised to hear Barbara say she named her son after him. The nurse at my school named her son Boz after Boz Skaggs...funny...guess that is still going on today...about my caption...I was just going to label it "school garden" but then "garden party" popped in my head and right away "Ricky Nelson" popped in my head...weird how the mind works...and as for all the memories I am nudging back to everyone's mind, guess that happens when you have so many years to go back and make reference to...I am referring to ME!!! LOL

So I decided to leave this as my photo of the day for Wednesday. Late tonight I have a little gift I made for someone around here, and then the squirrel returns. We don't get April snowstorms to send me off track (Denise :-) Of course, all the while, I'll continue to take pictures...
I am blown away by your squirrel shots. They are awesome. I now have a goal of shooting one with my camera. With 2 dogs following me around the yard most of the time, it won't be easy, wish me luck.
Hi there...just read your comment and sending a quick reply! Was more fun to do today's "show your face" and I kept thinking of your sex-ed squirrel lesson so that the expression on my face would be relaxed! Camera was on roof of car for today's photo shoot. More pictures will appear "you know where" later. At the last count there were fourteen different colours in my shirts but I have LOST my black one! There's going to have to be a mega hunt because I do tend to wear it to funerals. Had to use dark blue this week. There's a company in England who make quite pretty shirts for women with a bit of style to them and they'll do up your own fabric as well. Looking forward to seeing what you add for 14th April.
