When they're just "another of the local birds" they're worthy of a second look to admire their plumage! Here, at a beach park, up on the north shore, there were at least a half dozen roosters with their hens and some chicks. They're prettier to photograph here than in all the parking lots where you'll also see them! Whoever thought a chicken would be something of a novelty?!
Thanks for coming by & I love reading your comments. In my little bit of spare time, I'm just trying to keep up with daily postings...I have hundreds of pictures, so I see one I like, and just go for it! Of course I like for it to tell a story...
Quite big waves in the background. Lovely composition, full of people in the back, and quiet in the front, one cockerel inspecting his grounds. Nice with the leaves on the grass too.
@chard I think this is what happens with free range chickens...they fly the coop! (I lived in Honolulu as a child & even then I heard about "all the chickens" roaming around Kauai...) Went with a "Chicken Day" theme in my three albums today so I can move on!
Hahaha that is the first thing I thought of!! My last pic of a rooster was in a parking lot...it came right over to us and A put her arms out as if to hug him! LOL Cute shot, but ugly background! This is much nicer!
