Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge by Weezilou

Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge

We got out of the car at this overlook & Ken laughed when I began taking pictures of the chickens! It wasn't unreasonable...the chicken might wander off...that valley has been there for a millenium! It was a lovely view filled with taro fields below. Signs by Park & Wildlife spoke of poi losing its popularity but that the flooded fields are a necessary refuge for many waterfowl. I saw that there is a further sanctuary off the road, so we might likely return. (Dreadful photo of me, but someone had just asked if he might take a picture of me feeding the chickens, and Ken captured the moment!)

Go figure, Louise is surrounded by chickens, and tell Ken the whole thing comes together nicely, all part of the experience

@pinktornado39 Thanks for joining us on Kauai! Your Arizona desert is gorgeous, too!

Beautiful scenic shot and you and the chickens add a lot of interest. I like this candid shot. Not the subject matter (the chickens and the background scenery) we see too often around here. Haha.
