Just a brief update note... We came over to Catalina Island with our daughter's family to celebrate Ken's birthday this weekend. Here, we had a family lunch up at the Mt Ada Inn, the home of the Wrigley (Chewing Gum) family. Such an interesting history, as they still own the island and this home, where they would stay during the spring training of the Chicago Cubs (which he also owned for years.) Our luncheon host had worked there at the mansion for 30+ years, and was also, like our kids, from Chicago, so they were swapping stories "about the old neighborhood"!
We've had a superb time...couldn't have been more perfect in every way! Feeling great...and the voice is almost back...just sounds "sexy" now (or a bit like a frog!)
Happy happy birthday to Ken! Free boat ride on Catalina Express! Wish I was in Catalina too. I love the simple and quaint island...a step back in time. Love the tile and glass starfish shopping too! :)
Happy birthday Ken! What a fabulous photo of you two! I love the flag of course, and the beautiful boats below, the perfect place to celebrate your birthday! I kind of like it when I have laryngitis and sound like Tallulah Bankhead!
Happy Birthday, Ken. What a great and fun photo. We haven't been to Catalina in years. Last time both the kids and our then future daughter in law and a favorite foreign exchange student took John over and we all cerebrated Fathers Day!! How long ago? Keith and wife have been married for 19 years.
Such a lovely photo of you both with that glorious backdrop! It sounds like the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and with the family there too I know Ken had the most wonderful time! So pleased your voice is on the mend - I am sure Ken will miss your sexy croak! Fav!
Happy Belated Birthday to Ken! Love this picture of you together... what a marvellous couple you are!
I was terribly sorry to read about your health problems, but I'm so happy to know that you are recovering and feeling better now! Please, take care of you, sweet Louise! I loose my voice often, due to the sinusitis, and always think it's a good occasion for Davide to rest his ears! ;)
A big big hug!
