This is one of those photos that marks a journal event in our stay here. We had a lot of work done in several rooms over the winter...but...glitch on the part of the store-salesman that was to order this tile...it only arrived the week before we did... Our builder is awfully particular about helping us select good finishers, and both he (and nearly everyone we spoke with) said, "Get the German people"... They certainly are in high demand, and yesterday afternoon was the first time they could start (yippee!) They're so nice and a darling couple...she's been tiling with him for 12 of the 17 years they've been married. He began as an apprentice in Germany 32 years ago. The tile is up, they'll grout it tomorrow, and all the finish work is being done Monday. (Using the guest bathroom upstairs has given us the insight to make a few changes for our guests!)
@kerristephens Thanks, Kerri. The funny part is that we last looked at it in October, and I would have sworn it was a solid buff color (except for the patterned row)! Oh well...we waited so long, we're going to love it!
It will look great in the end. Remodeling can be a chore, that is why I like to hire someone to do it, except to paint. That I can handle if I have time.
Fabulous shot and story. Glad they're so good. When we had our bathroom remodelled we gave the plumber the key and went on holiday for a fortnight!!. When my daughter had hers done all four of them arrived daily at mum's for a shower!!
