The Pilgrimage by Weezilou

The Pilgrimage

While entertaining myself from my window seat on the plane, I was rather taken with this image. We've made our journey back to California, *almost* home on time. On final approach the pilot said the fog was so dense, we'd divert to another airport an hour's drive inland. Busses brought us back to our original destination, but it was late, the airport had shut down for the night and no one thought to call in taxi's to take people home! They trickled in a few at a time, and we got home by 12:30 AM...which was 4:30 in Lunenburg...a 23-hour travel day!

No complaints, our daughter brought the grandkids to see us the next day and we've been on the go ever since!

I still haven't unpacked...first things first!
Your image looks a bit outer space! I think you are super troupers!!

Sounds like the journey from hell! You must be exhausted but don't stop Louise you might miss something! I love hearing of your exploits and adventures - from the comfort of my armchair! Great abstract!

I like the way titles shape our views of shots like this.

Love the (abstract pic. Reading you airport story it reminds me a similar adventure I had once in Sweden. Arriving at midnight on a small airport in the middle of no where there was no people and no car. The crew was gone and the temp. : Frozen cold. I came from France with hot weather and clothed that way. No luggage. To make it brief . I`m here now and still living.

@pyrrhula Yikes, Ferry! At least, though the middle of the night here, it wasn't freezing in Southern California! Oh, reading about this episode pains me for you! Glad you came through it okay...and it DOES make for an interesting story, does it not?!

I'm still writing cards, baking and wrapping presents, Ferry. I'm running VERY late, but I'll pop up when people least expect it! Merry Christmas to you and Ina and your sons!
