Today we found the bobcats--WOO HOO ! ! ! Turns out they were at the complete opposite end of the road, many rugged miles away from where we were yesterday. But we got better directions and headed out again in hopes of spotting them. Saw more Tule Elk (this time the females) and gobbles of wild turkeys (including an albino) and finally found what we were "hunting" for. There was a mom and three young 'uns and they were just about the cutest things EVER. We did not expect to actually see them, let alone spend 15-20 minutes observing them at relatively close range. SO COOL, totally made my week (or month or even year!) Nothing fascinates me like wildlife and cats have always been my fave.
It was too dark to get any great shots due to high ISO and slow shutter speeds, hand held, so we made plans to try again tomorrow, only this time getting out much earlier. I'm hoping our luck can hold out!!
Such an amazing experience I'm sure! It's moments like these that we all want to capture, but sounds like you had enough time to lower the camera and just soak it all in too. Very cool!
I looked closely at this photo to find the flaws you shared ( high ISO etc). I can't see it. This is a perfect shot. I love your editing and you have captured the character of this lovely animal.
Ah this is perfectly captured - how wonderful to see wild cats, I'm so jealous - we only have Scottish wildcats here in the UK and they're so shy and retiring I'd never see one even if I didn't live hundreds of miles from Scotland ...
