It's 11:45 pm and I was literally moments away from posting the first filler of my project tonight. ...Maybe I shoulda, but snapped this instead just to say I shot SOMETHING today!
@_juliarichards Haha! Very tricky technique, this was...
1) Grab camera, turn on and set to f/2.8
2) Take off lens cap (that's the real secret!)
3) Hold up said cap in front of Christmas lights
4) Focus on cap and shoot
5) Post immediately so you can return to a day in bed watching Netflix!
;-)
@_juliarichards lol thats funny julia, the other day i was manually focusing and wondered why the camera wouldn't take the freekin phot, DOH i forgot to turn it ON haha.
awesome shot jenn, i was gonna try some Christmas lights tonight, cool idea :))

Camera are so dang advanced these days, you'd think they could turn on and remove the lens cap automatically by now. I cannot count how many times these simple features would have come in handy!
nice shot, almost did one similar of a light switch with christmas tree reflection last night, but then went to the pub and got a shot in the street!!!
@rich57 Netflix is a movie subscription business that sends DVDs in the mail for rent. many movies, TV shows, etc. are also available as online downloads, sometimes for free. So convenient and SO cool! I guess U.S. and Canada are its only customers thus far??
