Raven Wrap by aikiuser

Raven Wrap

My mom is an incredible potter, very connected to the earth and its creatures. She makes these bird sculptures that are just SOOOO cool and gave us this one for Christmas this year--LOVE it! I was trying to find some textures to compliment it, but this pic doesn't really do the piece justice. (Sorry, momm!)

Keep an eye out for her on 365 soon?? I'm hoping she can find time to share photos of her pottery--prepare to be amazed!
Ok, I have no idea why, but I saw this and was so full of emotion, my eyes teared up. This is amazing. Wow. Just........wow. A fav. Your mom is beyond talented, and the way you photographed it is just awesome.

Awesome bird and awesome processing on the photo ... I'm with Lacy - there's something quite powerful about this piece of art - I think your processing has contributed greatly to the emotion as well ...

Nice work :)

@jjsooner Hi Jennifer, this particular piece is about 12 inches tall. She makes others that are larger and some that are a bit smaller. All are uniquely individual. I may shoot a pic of one of the kachinas she makes which are spectacular as well. :-D

@debmayne Holy crap, 100?! And If I do the math right (for us here in the US), then the 100th will be on the last day of this year. Wow, now that IS cool! I'll have to put my thinking cap on earlier than 11:00pm for that one...
