Ruffled

Headed to a local pond in hopes of catching some interesting wildlife and indeed there was plenty of bird life around. This particular Great Blue Heron was way less skittish than most seem to be and let us get so close I couldn't get its whole body in the frame!
Wow!! Great texture!

Very nice Jenn! I see from the EXIF info this is 400mm focal length...is that a prime...? Some expensive glass if so. [--envy--] :)

Outstanding! Love the texture, color and details. After I commented on your Heron Supper photo, I remembered that it was an Egret that I captured start to finish, not the Heron. Didn't see the Heron catch anything that day.

Excellent shot. The best.

wonderful shot! I like how you solved "not getting the whole body in the frame". It looks intentional & turned out great. Such unpredictable birds when it comes to how close you can get....

Wonderful! I love blue herons - I never get to see them enough around here. You're so lucky it was tolerant of you being so close.!

Fav of Favs and well deserved too! Congrats Jenn! Great shot too!

You took a beautiful shot here. I love the feathers and that sideways pose. Those big lenses make getting the whole body in but man oh man do they capture a lovely picture.
