My theme for October is the birds I have photographed while out and about.
The Grey Butcherbird (Cracticus torquatus) is a species of butcherbird found throughout much of the Australian mainland and Tasmania. There sounds include a pleasant melodious song as well as a range of noisy cackling calls which sound a bit like maniacal laughter. They are also good mimickers.
I am fond of the ones that visit our garden.
