This is Sil, one of our two Turkish Van cats.
The Turkish Van is a solid and natural breed that originates from the area surrounding Lake Van in Turkey. A funny thing about this breed (apart from their love of water, they are also know as "the swimming cat") is the length of their tufts (the hair between their toes).
One of the purposes of these long tufts are to protect the sensitive skin on the pads from frozen ground and snow during winter.
