This artwork was in the long hallway leading from the rental car parking to the main terminal as I arrived to check in for my return flight to Montana. on October 11th. Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby held at Churchill Downs the first Saturday every May. It was first run in 1875. Here is a link to more information on this popular horse race:
A powerful image! Love it! In 1964, Northern Dancer was the first Canadian bred horse to win the Kentucky Derby. He was bred just outside my hometown of Oshawa, Ontario. It was a proud time for us- I was eight at the time, but it really remember his win! Thanks for the link, Barb.
