Today we stopped by a Service Station that has been around for 80 years serving the families in this neighbourhood. Dawson Motors held an open house to celebrate the occasion.
I went to school with the one boy who now is the thrid generation in his family to operate the business. His father still works there part-time and this business was started by his father back in 1932. The first Mr Dawson lived in the second floor of the building with his wife when they got things started.
It was a fun time with antique cars, a BBQ and lots of old photos. Everyone was having a great time.
Hats off to the Dawson family for so many years of great service to one and all
Great collage including the vintage cars. 80 years of anything is an awesome achievement especially in today's fast paced society. Great capture Brian.
Great collage of photos to honor the day. Hats off to the men and women how repair, referbish and maintain those old cars - they really are things of beauty. It is so nice to hear a family owned business is still thriving - I hope they have many more years of celebration.
Just as you are celebrating this 80 year old business, my community is mourning the loss of another 80 year old family-run business. Bill's Barbeque closes after 82 years. http://tinyurl.com/9f2zhcs
