So it wasn't a great day! It started with torrential rain and near zero visibility and continued with a slightly frustrating time in Human Resources trying to explain to the 14-yr old girl taking my details that No, I was not Dutch but indeed German (as the passport says...) and have always gone by the same surname although I now put Ms in front of it and not Miss..."Since when have you been using your surname then?" "Birth!?!" You get the drift! Bureaucracy - you gotta love it!
No time really for a lunch break, but managed 5 minutes on the road, stopping off at Bothal. The Castle is privately owned and always seems a forbidding place to me - as much as I enjoy the view. Tough trying to get access that isn't blocked by hedges or trees. I snatched this from the paddock underneath the castle. Had about 10 seconds to do so - the lone white stallion wasn't too impressed by the intrusion and started a VERY energetic gallop towards me (he had been hundreds of metres away...). Eek! He actually snorted and hissed at me once I was on the other side of the gate again ;-)
Ah, well! I shall manage to capture the castle one day.
Thank you all for bearing with me! Still catching up on weekend pictures, but I think I have managed to catch up with most of your gorgeous shots by now :-)
@fueast Thanks Alison! If it wasn't for that feisty stallion... It's a short cut for some of my journeys, but I love that route. Always makes me smile when I see the views
@filsie65 Thanks Phil! Had a lovely day off today (this was yesterday) and feel much better. Sorry for flooding the feed but there are a few more pics to come ;-)
This shot has eluded me for various reasons, including the hedges. You've made a good job of this. It could almost be a facade, because of the windows.
I am glad you all enjoyed the story ;-) Thanks for all the lovely comments. Hm, I like the idea of a quest! Makes it sound so much more impressive ;-)
