My other sister T gave us these bulbs at the beginning of the year and they've come up so pretty.
Dave's actual birthday today and he spent some time opening his presents before we got up: chocs, perfume, truffley foodstuffs, and a truffle shaver. Plus tickets to see Much Ado about Nothing at the Globe. F popped his head round the door and gave Dave a box of birthday chocolates.
Birthday champagne in the warm sunshine when my mum arrived. Unfortunately other sister T phoned to say not only did she have toothache but she'd spent a short while (but a relatively close while) with someone yesterday who has now come down with COVID. So she decided not to join us for the birthday lunch.
Dave took everyone to the restaurant in the car while I cycled. Decided to sit outside as it was so fine. Lovely lunch with bread, salad and yogurt dip freebies, then calamari and prawns to start followed by hellim pide and Greek salad which Dave and I shared. None of us could resist puddings and I had a very unTurkish chocolate pudding.
Sister and co got the bus after to go to N's family, Dave drove mum home and I cycled back. Tidied up and then did nothing but chill. Lost, bath, reading. Messaged Ros at work and agreed to do her on call tomorrow to give her a break.
3 good things
1. Plastic champagne flutes - takes the stress out of celebrating in the garden, no fears of smashing glass on the patio.
2. Mum brought round lots of old photos from when we were kids, quite charming.
3. Another lovely sunny day with periods of quite positive heat, had to cover my neck with my scarf to avoid burning on the restaurant terrace.
