Usain Bolt by Jimmy Cochran near Brick Lane - see Andy C's earlier high-impact version

Phew what a scorcher. Took a much-needed break from the dust and dejunking and met up with some 365 friends for an east London street art wander.
Met Andy C, Rich, Nigel, Alison, Juliette, Becky and Martha (plus orange bike) at Aldgate East (they cunningly met at an alternative exit to the one I knew in a vain effort to lose me, but I was game to their dastardly plan). Lisa joined us also at some point during the day.
Then a stroll up the the bustle of Brick Lane - sheltering in shop doorways during the thunderstorm ('it's not supposed to rain!' I wailed), stopping for a beigel at the 24 hr Beigel Bake and Wenlock spotting.
As the rain cleared, the sun really hotted up as we made our way towards Columbia Market to see the pretty flowers and the hordes fighting over the last verbenas and dahlias. A pub stop here was very welcome as was the jug of Pimm's Nigel bought.
Then more street art shenanigans through Brick Lane and bits of Hoxton/Shoreditch. At the Usain Bolt picture, a few of the gang tried to do the Bolt thing but they weren't very good and there was some bickering as to exactly how it goes ...
Another pub stop at the Old Blue Last where we played with our gadgets. Rich, Nigel and I had the Truman's on draught - we were in agreement that it was fairly ghastly but all too nervous about complaining until Alison took matters in hand. We were rewarded with fresh drinkable drinks.
Slowly made our way back to Liverpool St where a few of us had a bite in The English Restaurant in Brushfield St - oysters and fishcake. I tried to steal Nigel's chips - he was very gallant and shared them with me.
Then a bit more Wenlock spotting before we headed off home. Nice day people, thanks.
