Celebrating 150 years .....

..... of the opening of the London underground. Peter is a stamp collector and he picked up these commemorative stamps from the post office today.
Bottom right is the first underground passenger steam train in 1863, on the Metropolitan line.
Top left is from a 1909 poster encouraging underground travel.
Top right is a drawing of a tube train from 1938,
Bottom left shows the Jubilee line at Canary Wharf, opened in 1999.

@louisefrance Thanks Louise, actually there's two more in the set and also some elongated ones showing three posters. I couldn't think how to get them all in without it appearing cluttered.

Oh fab. I love those old transport posters. I've got a great one from the Chicago El in my office. Aren't stamps great for commemoration.
