Today was a beautiful fall day. I spent my whole day outside. I saw butterflies, bees, wasps, milkweed bugs, AND this Rough Green Snake. This is why I don't go in the woods. LOL! I do walk around the woods. It was hanging out on a limb at the edge of the woods. They're easy to spot, especially this time of the year. This color green is not a fall color!
The last time I took a snake pic was back in the spring. I shook the whole time. Not this time. I was more concerned with getting the right settings on my camera. Thank you 365 project for helping me with my fear of snakes!!! :0)
Thank you for your kind comments on yesterday's flower pic! :0)
Wow, what a really great capture. Isn't it amazing how you had no shakes this time, just the urge to get a good shot for 365! How we are changing thanks to this project!!!
Nice one Carolyn hey you got the shot. You should of reached up and grabbed it, those guys want even bite. You could of got a shot with it wrapped around your arm. lol
I looked it up...they are non venomous and rarely bite. Now I want to see it wrapped around your arm too! :-) The worse thing it might so is pee on you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opheodrys_aestivus
He is gorgeous compared to my plain black tree snake and at least he stayed put long enough for you to take a photo the last time I saw my snake I was doing a dance in the air because he was heading straight for me. Your bravery has certainly rewarded you with a fantastic shot.
Great snake capture. I am afraid that I would still shake all over if I saw a snake-365 project or not. I have lost my fear of bees and wasps due to 365 though.
i would only be taking this shot with an REEEAALLLLYYY long zoom lens! You're a braver woman that I, Carolyn! (It is a nice coloured snake all the same :)
He pretty, but he looks a little like a garden hose. Nice capture. I'd be less afraid of him than a big hairy spider. He doesn't look like he could hurt you.
OK, it took courage for me to even open this photo to comment. I have such a phobia of snakes. Good for you for getting this image. You are a brave woman indeed!! Great photo, but absolutely scary subject matter for me.
