Gone

For anyone who wondered what the Tata Steel Works looks like up close, this was taken this afternoon along the South Gare Warrenby near Redcar. It's now mothballed with just a Skelton crew, clearing the decks. I will post a couple more over the next day or two, it's got a very dirty rustic beauty that fits in so well with the bleakness of the Gare. Today was 5c with grey skies so murky.

Thank you so much for all your comments and favs all are very much appreciated.

So glad everyone enjoyed yesterday's busy photo,
I have a few more to post but will do it when I am off my feet in a week or so's time. I will struggle to find a shot inside four walls in a plaster cast!!
A super capture, such a shame to see it going to rack and ruin. Fav!! 😀

A nice shot of the sleeping steel mill. Looks like many I've seen during my travels on the East coast

Nothing quite so sad as dead industry.

Beautiful capture of this abandoned steel-works factory. It is so sad to see it in this state - who knows how many people earned a living when it was still 'in service'.

It's difficult to recognise such closures as progress when it's been your livelihood. Sadly, the pace of change doesn't seem to permit consideration of those who are directly affected. A telling shot.

So sad to see these places becoming derelict. I hope you're not in your plaster cast for too long Margaret
