I didn’t take this shot but couldn’t resist posting. Grandchild no 3. Is 6 months old and has had solely breast milk since he was born and has just started his first solids. He’s a savoury lad who has enjoyed most of the tastes he’s tried, last night it was broccolis turn, he loved it but this was his face while he was concentrating on getting it into his mouth. The train of thought is milk to 6 months then soft cooked veg etc put on the tray of a high chair and just let them get on with it. It’s different to when ours were small but considering that he only had milk before this, I think it’s an achievement to see him holding a floret and eating it!!

Thank you for all the lovely comments and favs all are very welcome and appreciated.
Hysterical! Brings back memories if my wee boy. He loves his sugary stuff but not fruit! But oh oh oh give him broccoli or spinach or asparagus and he is happy as Larry! Wonderful facial expression, I love it ❤️
Such a wonderful photo - love his expression. Is this what they call child-led weaning that my daughter is talking about? ( though her little one is only 4 months old and not ready yet)
What a shot for the baby book! Our first grandchild is also just 6 months old and has been purely breast fed. I must tell his Mum about the vege idea - it sounds a great way for them to explore textures while investigating new foods. Cheers Rob
