Oh, I had plans for today's shot and none of them came to fruition (I'll get to that shot again sometime--that's the beauty of 365--there's always another day), but I did venture to some rural areas in my suburban town--one was right across from my street where cows and horses reside. Another was an interesting area called "The Silos" in Alpharetta/Crabapple area--I ended up trying something for the Camera Settings Challenge as well--Solar Flare.
You can only vaguely see the outline of the silo in this photo. I left it as such without changing too much because I felt it was somewhat ominous and mysterious this way, rather than a now-urban "area" marker (although I give great credit to Alpharetta for protecting the silos and making it a little park even--I was able to get up nice and close and park right at the restaurant by it--yes, urban/rural mixed together--just not evident in the photo). This silo is from the old "Hughes Farm"--there are Three silos still extant and there is a mini modern silo next to them with some old photos of the farm (that land now hosts a Walgreens, a Kroger, and some various restaurants, etc.).
I'm guessing this will look more dark than I hoped, but the little flare is sorta cute! Onto STREET tomorrow--Oh, if all works out, and it should, I will be taking you folks to where I met my husband (and where I used to live). One of the funkiest, most interesting places in the ATL: Little Five Points. Even going to see band performances from "Girls Rock Camp" a national program for girls who wanna rock. I just may have to do the adult version. Here's hopin I get a stellar shot tomorrow! :)
Very interesting composition, Daryl! At first looked like a big sail on a sailboat. I have always wondered if I could stop and get a shot over there at the silos...never have though! Nice job!
