Its hard to have a great summer without a one night stand!
Feeling a like you're in a rut? Nothing better than a one night stand to get yourself out of another ho-hum week! It's back! This is the fifth time around and it get more fun each time! If you're not familiar with the One Night Stand Challenge...
This is how it works;
I have compiled a list of photography types and they have been selected randomly for this challenge! One type of photography, one night! You have one post for each category for each day of the week, just one! Love em and leave em! One post , one pic, one day. ...here's the list!
Mon. 8th ~ Architecture -
The art of making property appear attractive! This can be done by shooting the whole building or just a part of it!
Tues. 9th ~ Travel
Photography to showcase locations, illustrate travel literature, etc.
Wed. 10th ~ Black and White
Not simply photography without colour, black and white photography explores shapes, tones and textures. Shadows and highlights become much more important.
I've been drawn to B&W lately so this will be fun!
Thurs. 11th ~ Abstract
Abstract photography can produce very dramatic images. I love the creativity abstract can release! This one will be a nice break!
Fri. 12th ~ Urban and Rural
For those of you that are nowhere near the city! ;)
Sat. 13th ~ Street
Street photography is a genre of photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places. This one can your stomach knot up if you let it! It is perfectly acceptable to drink and shoot for this one! :o)
Sun. 14th ~ Transportation
This one should be easy! If it has wheels, wings or a hull, its fair game!
There it is! Wham bam thank you ma'am! Some are fun, some are a little challenging, some are downright terrifying! :o)
What makes this challenge fun is we all go through it together! One pic and leave it for the next! Tag your pic ONS5 so we can all see each others works of art!
I hope you get lucky! ;o)
Yippee, I have enjoyed your previous ONS challenges and reading this my immediate thought was down town trip! I could probably hit all topics in one night.
hah! i was just thinking about ONS this morning. i thought i'd send a message but life got in the way and i forgot. but, here it is! and whew! no selfie!
Yay!
Right, I'm definitely going to try and manage to do as much of this week's ONS as I can.
It was one of the first challenges I ever did way back in January and it was great fun!
@orangecrush I'm going to try this one, but I tend to just shoot things as I encounter them in my year 2.... and as many photos I take regularly, I'm really not hurting for inspiration, but its always fun to play along with your one night stand.
@orangecrush Oh, you have me!!! Jerry, this was the first challenge I ever did that really made me smile and learn all at once. Thanks so much for coming up with these--they make my day. Gives me a goal and makes me run all over the place like a mad-woman. Thankful I saw this TODAY and not tomorrow. Will plot away tonight at the dinner table (because I have kids in tow all summer!). FUN, FUN, FUN ahead!
The one that scares me and daunts me the most if STREET phtography! Ah! But I will TRY to do this challenge! And my friends right up there are doing it too...so that is cool!
@harley84 Lol! If you're dreaming about it, it must be time! :) @darylo I'm so glad you're in, Daryl! :) @espyetta Me too! I'm glad there is a bunch of us suffering through it together! :)
Ok...so you've twisted my arm (really didn't need much twisting at all, these are uber fun!) and I'm in... I'm so behind after a weekend away though! Lots of catching up to do tonight I guess! Thank Jerry for organising this again :)

This is of course in NYC. The photo was taken in Oct. 2011. I did not have anything good for the ONS5 today on travel so I decided to use this. I did edit and completely change the entire look of this photo for the challenge. It was in color, without the white edges and without the black border.
@eyesmile
You will notice that in the "tag" section of each photo on this thread, there is "ONS5"-that tag gets you to all the postings. To post on this page, go to your shot, then look for the "copy and paste code" in the lower right corner to copy/paste here! Gosh, I hope I'm right. Hope it works. :)
O.K. so I'm a little late to the game, but I haven't posted for this week yet, so I think I can make this work!! Thanks, @orangecrush for setting this up!!
@orangecrush Jerry, I'm so sorry I read about the ONS5 too late! I love your challenge and would have liked to join in, but I am still away on holiday and can't visit regulalrly.Can't wait to take part in ONS6!
I swapped in a shot from June 8 to meet the Architecture challenge word on the first day... it worked out pretty well. This alley's pretty popular with the pigeons, so blemish removal was the biggest challenge. I resorted to using Photoshop CS6's healing and cloning tools to clean up the street... even Lightroom 5's improved healing tool wasn't up to a job that big.
