If you have a spare second please look through my pics (I've only just started so there aren't many)
I am lucky to have some beautiful areas and subjects available to me, but can't help feeling I could have done better, given the gorgeous subject matters
Thanks in advance for any help, tips or critique. :)
It's a nice beginning. I'm no expert, but you are paying attention to light and that is important. Find some people whose photos you admire, follow them and comment on their work. It doesn't have to be technical, just what you like or don't.
Watch the challenges and themes, then participate. People will get to know you and comment.
Some nice shots you've taken. There are so many pointers. My single piece of advice is that if your camera allows, get to shooting in Aperture Priority or Manual Mode asap, where you choose the aperture, or Aperture and Shutter priority.
@tigerdreamer Thanks for the advice! entered a comp already! :) @agavegirl13 Thanks for the follow! and I snooped your pictures and they are lovely! Had to follow you too! @seanoneill Thank you Sean, I will begin experimenting with manual very soon! I have a lot to learn but that is a good start.
@bentcherry I'll give a shameless plug for Nick Kelsh's "How to Photograph Your Life." His "Daily Tips" are better than any photography class I've ever been to. He's doing a series right now on "Going Manual." His older lessons are in archive, so once you subscribe, you have access to all of that. (It's only $20/year, too!)
I think your gallery is gorgeous! I really like the photo of the landscape with the silhouettes of the horses - that photo is beautiful.
The only thing I would give as critique is making sure your horizon lines are completely straight. Not that this really applies to you - I only found one photo that was a little wonky - but that's just me. I like things straight haha :D
