My Best Photo of the Year So Far

July 16th, 2012
Go through my photos in my 365 Project for 2012 and tell me what you think is my best quality shot(s) of the year to date. Also give reasons.

please

Got to ask Sam - What do you think is your "best" photo to date? and why?
July 16th, 2012
@kittikat I can't decide! That's why I'm asking.

If I had to choose one though, I would choose this one, because of its symbolism and the lines.

Bit rude.

@sfeldphotos - Hi Sam, I'm going to start looking through your pics, but I have a question. What is it about the pic you posted that you like? I mean you mention symbolism. What does it symbolise to you? I'm looking to understand your thought process as I go through your images.
Thank you.

BTW, it never hurts to put a please somewhere in a request.

@dishaparekh176 sorry :( not trying to be rude

@mikehamm It symbolizes windows of opportunities to me, and also different ways of viewing something; I took this at UNC Wilmington campus and it is one of the schools I am considering to go to.

Thanks, Sam.
I like this picture for quite a few reasons (foreground, middle ground, background, motion, thirds). Now, I'd like you to please tell us why you liked this picture enough to post it. What was your original thought about why you chose this picture that day.
Thanks.

I like the fact that it captured moving water and I liked that it was coming down rocks. Plus, this was the first time I had gotten a shot like this.

Hi Sam! I've had a look through your album but concentrated on the period since I started following you. My favourite before then would be the one your Dad took of you after your birthday (!) but that doesn't count. I love the one of the rainbow m&ms because it's a great idea, great photo, well executed. If I had to choose a favourite I think it would be this one...

I love the quirkiness of taking it through the letterbox, the way the shadow accentuates the shine on the cobweb, the bokeh and light in the background and the focus on the cobweb itself is beautifully captured too!
BTW I have to say, Sam, the way you phrased your original request did make it sound a bit like an exam question.. and it was quite a big ask for anyone to go through 6 months' photos...! I had 10 mins spare so didn't mind as I feel I'm getting to know you and I'm happy to encourage your photography and your project.
Hope this all helps :)

@filsie65 Thank you very much Phil!

@gark Did you read the instructions? These are supposed to be favorites of mine, not yours. This picture is wonderful but I think you're in the wrong discussion.
July 18th, 2012

Actually, I think this is my best-quality shot of the year so far. It's because of 1) the lighting, 2)the texture, 3) the details and 4)the lines

Sam- You have a great project going. I like the different types of photos you have going on!! Keep it up! This is one of my favorites of yours, because I like flowers! Great POV!

@gark I agree! This in an amazing photo for someone so young!
